Portfolio 2 - Week 2 - Kraffa / Bird Guy

Revised Schedule:

Week 3 - Final sculpt pass, Retopo

Week 4 - UV's, materials, Final lighting/display

Need to finish face/hair, hard surface details, swords and bird. Had to spend a lot of time going back and correcting proportions of major shapes but I think I've got it in a better state for finishing the sculpt and building game res!

Started working out the shapes; I tried out a few small hard-surface elements to get a feel for the best way to proceed with them (trying to use more ZModeler this time around vs. my last project). Every part of the body needs work, but it's a starting base for going back in and cleaning everything up/reference matching for next week. :)

Common Art - Summer Sprint 2

This sprint, I worked with the team to help create a Jira board to schedule tasks using the asset list Jaz has been working on and updating everything to get a realistic idea of what's left and how we can best tackle it all. We also made a lot of cuts to lower priority assets to scope down and give us time to polish, in addition to major change of cutting the neutral ending out of the experience. Here's a look at what I'm going to be working on in the next few sprints!

For my individual tasks, I worked on polishing the evil arm sculpt and retopo for the evil legs. I may need to make some more changes to the leg mesh to prevent some possible animation issues (metal knee cap may look weird when bent so I've started splitting it into two separate meshes in the geometry so that metal part can stay rigid in the weighting), but I was able to finally get a bake and first texture pass of it!

Portfolio 1 Week 3 - Game Res, UV's, First Bake

Spent most of this week making up for lost time on the sculpt, but it's finally getting closer - I am still figuring out the front claws, which I now understand to be depicted in a forced perspective in the concept! Knowing this, I will straighten out each front claw and re-pose them back into the forced perspective position when I take my final shots. (My final edits for the sculpt will be finishing the front claws, fixing tail anatomy, sharpening hard surface spots where it's getting soft, and adding inside mouth).

Status Update

Hi all! This blog will be sparsely updated going forward as my time at FIEA draws to a close. Thank you to my classmates (especially the 3D ...
